Daily Chart: Oxford’s global network of COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing sites
To meet demand as much demand for its COVID-19 vaccine as quickly as possible, the University of Oxford has been building a coalition of manufacturing partners before it even knows if the vaccine works. The network stretches from the U.S. to South Asia.
AstraZeneca plc became Oxford’s latest manufacturing partner this week, joining Cobra Biologics AB, Halix B.V., Merck KGaA, Oxford Biomedica plc, Pall Life Sciences and the Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (see “AstraZeneca to Make COVID-19 Vaccine”).
Oxford’s Jenner Institute has also tapped the Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd. to provide up to 60 million doses by year-end (see “India Emerging as Major COVID-19 Vaccine Manufacturer”).
The Jenner Institute and Vaccitech Ltd. are co-developing the vaccine, which is in a Phase I/II trial with data expected next month.
