The COVID-19 pandemic is exposing and being exacerbated by the Trump administration’s dysfunctional command and control systems. The most recent example came Sunday as FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn publicly defended his agency’s actions in a tweet to President Donald Trump, rather than using more conventional -- and private -- communication channels.
The drama started Saturday, when FDA issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to the Battelle Memorial Institute to decontaminate up to 10,000 N95 respirator masks at its Columbus, Ohio, plant using concentrated, vapor phase hydrogen peroxide. ...
