U.S. government contracting with Sanofi to double recombinant influenza vaccine capacity

The U.S. government has entered into a six-year, $226 million contract with the Sanofi Pasteur division of Sanofi to double the company’s recombinant protein-based influenza vaccine manufacturing capacity in the United States.

The contract will pay for Sanofi (Euronext:SAN; NASDAQ:SNY) to retrofit vaccine manufacturing facilities in Swiftwater, Pa., and to develop and obtain approval for an adjuvanted, recombinant pandemic influenza vaccine. ...
