INDICATION: Breast cancer; melanoma

Inhibition of CD49e/CD61 alone or in combination with anti-PD-1 therapies could treat breast cancer and melanoma. An siRNA against CD49e/CD61 reduced tumor volume in mice with breast cancer. In a mouse model of melanoma, the anti-CD49e/CD61 siRNA blocked tumor growth in 20 out of 32 treated mice, and reduced tumor growth after secondary challenge with melanoma cells. Also in the melanoma model, combining the siRNA against CD49e/CD61 with a mAb against PD-1 increased survival and reduced growth of primary and rechallenge tumors compared with either therapy alone. ...
