China unveils three-year plan for cancer prevention, control

China’s 2019-22 cancer prevention and control plan broadly outlines measures the country plans to take to standardize screening and treatment, improve access to cancer drugs and accelerate review of HPV vaccines.

The plan, released Monday, calls for standardized screening, diagnosis and treatment guidelines for cancers with high incidence such as gastric, esophageal, colorectal, cervical, breast and lung cancers. It also calls for optimization of diagnosis and treatment through development of remote consultation services based on internet and AI technologies for primary and secondary diagnosis and treatment and the use of information technology to standardize diagnosis and treatment. ...
