CCR5 mutation linked to increased death rate
Using genomic and health data from over 400,000 individuals in the UK Biobank, University of California Berkeley researchers found that homozygous Δ32 mutations in CC chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) increased mortality rate by 21%, as reported in a Nature Medicine paper Monday.
