Cell culture and worm studies suggest the PTP-1B inhibitor trodusquemine could help treat AD. In human cells cultured with β amyloid 42 (Aβ₄₂), trodusquemine decreased the formation of Aβ₄₂ oligomers and increased cell viability compared with no treatment.
