U.K. hints at new NHS cancer strategy, announces genomic healthcare service

U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May said in a speech Wednesday that NHS will aim to increase early cancer diagnosis as part of its upcoming 10 year plan. The U.K. government first announced the 2019-29 plan in June, when it also said it would increase NHS funding by over £20.5 billion ($26.8 billion) "in real terms" from 2018 to 2023-24.

The U.K.'s cancer survival rates currently lag behind other nations, May said, and the country hopes a revamped focus on early diagnosis will help narrow the survival gap...
