China unveils cancer drugs for medical insurance access negotiation

China's State Medical Insurance Administration announced 18 cancer drugs that will be included in 2018 medical insurance access negotiations. Companies with drugs on the list will now enter into negotiations to include the drugs on the country's National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL).

The agency, which launched in May, is responsible for formulating policies, plans and standards for medical insurance systems; supervising and administering relevant medical insurance funds; formulating pricing standards and purchasing and procurement policies for pharmaceuticals; and supervising and administering certain medical institutions' services and medical expenses (see "China Launches New Medical Insurance Agency")...
