A group at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has developed a non-invasive method to detect circulating cell-free DNA from dying cardiomyocytes that could complement existing tests used to diagnose or monitor cardiac disease, and serve as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for sepsis.
