Patient sample and mouse studies suggest HIF1A stabilizers could help treat heavy menstrual bleeding. In endometrial samples from patients, levels of HIF1A were lower than in patients with normal menstrual bleeding. In a mouse model of heavy menstrual bleeding, a tool compound that stabilizes HIF1A increased scores of endometrial repair compared with vehicle.
