Mouse studies suggest CCR5 inhibitors could help treat osteoporosis. In a mouse model of osteoporosis, systemic knockout of CCR5 decreased trabecular bone loss in the femur compared with normal expression. Next steps could include testing CCR5 inhibitors in models of osteoporosis.
