New inflammasome target for early intervention in AD

A paper published in Nature suggests inhibiting the inflammasome protein PYD and CARD domain containing (PYCARD; ASC) may prevent beta amyloid deposition in Alzheimer's disease, offering an earlier intervention than targeting established amyloid plaques.
