VirionHealth raises series A round

Virtual biotech VirionHealth Ltd. (U.K.) said it raised "up to £13 million" ($17.1 million) in a series A round from Abingworth. The company is developing defective interfering virus particles that can treat a range of infectious diseases. CEO Nicola Thompson declined to give specific financial terms.
