Patient sample, cell culture and mouse studies suggest inhibiting GPAT could help treat ovarian cancer. In patients, high tumor levels of GPAT were associated with poor overall survival. In an ovarian cancer cell line, knockdown of GPAT decreased migration compared with normal expression. In a xenograft mouse model of ovarian cancer, tumor-specific knockdown of GPAT decreased tumor growth. Next steps could include identifying and testing GPAT inhibitors in the model...
