Why NIH’s attempt to revamp grants is only a small step in the right direction

Increasing funding for innovative young researchers is making its way up NIH’s to-do list. But to win over a skeptical community, the agency will likely need to redraw some boundaries and dig a bit deeper than the offerings in its latest proposal.
