NCI releases data tool for clinical trial searches

NCI unveiled its Clinical Trials API, an application program interface designed to help patients and clinicians find clinical trials for which they might be eligible. The tool will give patient organizations, advocacy groups, cancer centers and researchers access to data from NCI's Clinical Trials Reporting Program, and allow third parties to build their own software applications using the data.

As part of the program's beta launch, NCI's clinical trial search site will use the tool. NCI and the White House's Presidential Innovation Fellows program collaborated to develop the interface as part of the Cancer Moonshot Initiative. ...
