23andMe pads coffers with $115M series E

23andMe Inc. (Mountain View, Calif.) raised $115 million in a series E round led by Fidelity. New investors Casdin Capital; WuXi Healthcare Ventures; and Xfund also participated, as did Illumina Inc. (NASDAQ:ILMN); New Enterprise Associates; MPM Capital; and Google Ventures.

23andMe said it would revamp its user experience, expand operations in the U.S. and elsewhere, and invest in infrastructure for therapeutic research and next-generation sequencing.
