Paul Allen to invest $100M in biotech

Philanthropist Paul Allen said he will invest $100 million in bioscience over 10 years via the Paul G. Allen Frontiers Group, a new investment vehicle.
The group committed $10 million over four years to each of two academic "discovery centers," and intends to invest another $10 million in each for a second four-year period. The center at Stanford University, led by Markus Covert, will create computer models of cellular interactions, including Salmonella infection of macrophages. The center at Tufts University, led by Michael Levin, will research bioelectric signaling code to gain insights into tissue regeneration and tumor suppression. ...
