France releases X-SCID report

The French health authority, Afssaps, released a report confirming that aberrant LM0-2 function is the probable cause of T cell lymphoproliferative disease observed in two patients taking part in a French gene therapy trial in 11 patients with X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (X-SCID). The report says that insertion of the MFG-gamma c vector into a locus that affected the LMO-2 gene has now been confirmed in both patients and is probably responsible for uncontrolled clonal proliferation of mature T lymphocytes in the two X-SCID patients. ...
