Cell Biosciences to acquire Convergent

Cell Biosciences Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.) will acquire fellow protein analysis company Convergent Bioscience Ltd. (Toronto, Ontario) for about $12 million in cash. Convergent markets its iCE280 system for whole column detection capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF). According to Cell Biosciences, Convergent expects 2010 revenues of about $8 million.
