Indiana's biotech hub gets $100 million industry boost

The Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) has received a $100 million dollar donation from local forces Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE:LLY) and Lilly Endowment Inc., tripling the committed contributions since the institute's foundation in 2013, and setting the organization well on the road to its goal of $350 million by 2018.

According to David Broecker, president and CEO of IBRI, the institute's biggest focus will be on cardiometabolic disease and poor nutrition, which align the interests of many of the regions' powerhouses that IBRI hopes to draw in to kick-start a biotech hub. ...
