An article to be published in this week'sProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences describes a dock and lock (DNL) protein engineering method from Immunomedics Inc. that can be used to create fusion proteins linked by the natural action of a pair of protein subunits. According to the company, the site-specificity of the approach produces multi-functional proteins with increased yield and homogeneity vs. other engineering methods.
