Immunovaccine's single-shot anthrax vaccine bolsters U.S. biodefense

It has been over a decade since anthrax filled the headlines and while stockpiles of vaccine have been stored for emergency use, the only marketed vaccine in the U.S. - Emergent BioSolution Inc.'s BioThrax - requires three injections over a period of six months. According to the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), that's far from ideal. Last month, Immunovaccine Inc. disclosed preclinical data showing its DepoVax technology can produce a single-shot anthrax vaccine that works quickly and equally well regardless of the source of antigen.
