In vivo imaging could help chart a course for nanotherapeutics

Two Harvard labs have collaborated to track nanoparticle dynamics in tumors through in vivo imaging. In a pair of studies, the teams highlighted how the efficacy of nanomedicines could be influenced and predicted by the spatial distribution of nanoparticles in tumors.
Omid Farokhzad, a principal investigator on both studies, thinks such spatial information will be critical to jump-start what he believes is a promising but stunted field.
