Crescendo Biologics Ltd. has generated a triple knockout mouse that lacks all heavy and light immunoglobulin chains of mouse origin, which could provide a cleaner in vivo background for generating human antibody fragments than the mice previously used by the company.

Heavy-chain antibodies contain variable domains (VHs), which are the smallest antibody fragments that exhibit target affinity and thus are the focus of next-generation antibody fragment companies.
