Genospectra raises $12.2M

Genomics and proteomics company Genospectra (Fremont, Calif.) raised $12.2 million in the second closing of a series C round, bringing the round's total to $28.6 million. New investor Sigma-Aldrich (SIAL) joined undisclosed existing investors in the round. In conjunction with the investment, SIAL gains rights to distribute Genospectra's QuantiGene gene expression profiling assay and to commercialize Genospectra's inducible siRNA and delivery technologies.
