CIRM opened its stem cell bank, which is publicly available to researchers worldwide. The bank will initially offer 300 different induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell lines representing autism, epilepsy and other childhood neurological disorders; blinding eye diseases; heart, lung and liver diseases; and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). CIRM expects the number of available cell lines to increase to 750 by February 2016. CIRM is funding the bank with over $32 million. ...
