Peregrine preclinical data

In a rabbit model of acute herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) keratitis, PGN632 given 4 times daily for 4 days was non-inferior to 0.15% Zirgan ganciclovir in reducing corneal slit-lamp examination scores and ocular disease scores. PGN632 alone, PGN632 plus Zirgan and Zirgan alone all significantly reduced corneal slit-lamp examination scores and ocular clinical scores vs. vehicle-treated controls (p<0.05 for all). No ocular toxicity was observed in any treatment group. Data were presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting in Fort Lauderdale.
