U.K. study shows Victoza reduces HbA1c better than Byetta, DPP-4s

Researchers at Llandough Hospital reported data compiled from U.K. primary care practices showing that subcutaneous Victoza liraglutide produced significantly greater mean reductions in HbA1c compared to both subcutaneous Byetta exenatide and treatment with an oral dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. Victoza, marketed by Novo Nordisk A/S (CSE:NVO; NYSE:NVO), led to a mean reduction of 1.23%, compared to a 0.79% reduction with Byetta and 0.72% with a DPP-4 inhibitor.
