Illumina, Sequenom deal

The companies will collaborate to seek regulatory approval of an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) version of Sequenom's Trisomy 21 prenatal Down syndrome laboratory-developed test (LDT). Sequenom plans to submit a regulatory application to FDA for the IVD in late 2012 or early 2013. Sequenom will also purchase Illumina's sequencing equipment and consumables under the three-year deal.
