The companies and colleagues published in Nature Medicine the ability of an HIV gp160 vaccine and gp120 booster to produce long-term protection against HIV-1 infection in chimpanzees.
Neutralizing antibodies against HIV-1 were detected in 3 of the immunized chimpanzees, and the animal without neutralizing antibodies was found to have high levels of HIV-1-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes. ...
