ISIP published animal and cell culture data showing potent inhibition of human tumor growth in mice by the antisense compound. As reported in Nature Medicine, ISIS 5132/CGP 69846A blocked growth of xenograft tumors from human breast, lung, and bladder, at doses well below those known to be toxic.
