GenPharm published the creation of its HuMAb-Mouse, a transgenic, knock-out mouse, to generate human IgG antibodies. As reported in Nature Biotechnology, the human MAbs produced by the mice had affinity levels suitable for therapeutic use. The antibodies will not need further modification or humanization to avoid HAMA (human anti-mouse antibody) response, and undergo rearrangement in the mice to provide the wide antibody repertoire normal for the immune response. ...
