Chiron, Japan Tobacco deal

CHIR granted a non-exclusive license to its combinatorial chemistry technologies to JT's pharmaceutical division. The collaboration initially covers two years and is extendible for up to four years.

JT will make undisclosed annual payments to CHIR for access to the small molecule combinatorial chemistry and solid phase synthesis methods. The technologies licensed to JT also include multi-pin synthesis methods, techniques for automating the synthesis of compounds including robotics and customized software, analytical capabilities to monitor automated synthesis, computational approaches to design small molecule libraries and related data management systems, as well as advanced assay screening methods. ...
