In red blood cell concentrates that had been spiked with enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, Inactine treatment produced undetectable viral levels while producing no adverse effects on red cell structure or function after 42 days under normal storage conditions. Separately, Inactine reduced levels of porcine parvovirus (PPV) non-enveloped virus in solvent detergent treated plasma spiked with PPV without altering other features of the plasma. ...
