Medistem, Shanghai Jia Fu Medical Apparatus Inc. deal

The companies partnered to develop Medistem's Endometrial Regenerative Cells (ERC), a universal donor stem cell product derived from the menstrual blood, for the Chinese market. The partners will initially focus on developing the product to treat critical limb ischemia (CLI). Medistem will provide ERC for research use and will receive all of the data generated under the deal, while Shanghai Jia will support ongoing research. Medistem said Shanghai Jia is "actively working in the area of clinical translation of cellular therapy" and is an "ideal partner" to start development of its therapeutics for the Chinese market.
