Tetraphase preclinical data

In mice exposed to aerosolized anthrax, prophylactic intraperitoneal 3, 6, 12 and 18 mg/kg daily TP-271 given for 21 days starting 24 hours post challenge led to survival rates of 90%, 95%, 95% and 84%, respectively, vs. 22% for untreated control mice and 70% for mice treated with positive control of intraperitoneal 40 mg/kg doxycycline 4-times daily for 21 days. In a treatment model, intraperitoneal 6, 12 and 18 mg/kg daily TP-271 given for 21 days starting 48 hours post challenge led to survival rates of 100%, 91% and 81%, respectively, vs. 10% for untreated control mice and 76% for doxycycline-treated mice.
