In mouse xenograft models of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), MEHD7945A, a humanized IgG1 mAb targeting both EGFR and epidermal growth factor receptor 3 ( EGFR3; HER3; ErbB3), produced greater tumor growth inhibition than each respective monospecific antibody. Specifically, MEHD7945A led to a tumor growth inhibition of 56% vs. 17% for cetuximab, a chimeric IgG1 mAb targeting EGFR, and 33% for an anti-HER3 antibody. Greater tumor growth inhibition with MEHD7945A compared with each monospecific antibody was also observed in a xenograft model of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN). Additionally, once-weekly IV MEHD7945A led to reduced dermatologic toxicity compared to Erbitux in cynomolgus monkeys. Data were published in Cancer Cell. ...
