Roche, Stratos Genomics deal

Roche partnered with Stratos Genomics to develop “unique” chemistry applied to single molecule sequencing of DNA fragments using protein nanopores. Under the two-year deal, the companies will develop efficient, low-cost sample preparation methods for DNA Xpandomers using Stratos Genomics’ Sequencing by Expansion (SBX) method - a single molecule detection process that converts DNA into larger surrogate molecules, dubbed Xpandomers. The sequence of an Xpandomer can then be determined by passing the Xpandomer through a nanopore detector.
