Bayer, German Cancer Research Center deal

Bayer's Bayer Healthcare unit and the center expanded a 2008 deal to discover and develop cancer therapeutics and diagnostics to monitor individual treatment courses and predict treatment success to include immunotherapeutics for cancer. Under the expansion, the partners are aiming to identify at least two immunotherapy candidates and jointly develop them up to the start of clinical testing within the next five years. The partners will together invest up to an additional €3 million ($3.9 million) per year and will work in a joint laboratory at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) in Heidelberg, which will have up to 12 employees.
