MVA-HCV: Final Phase II data
Final data from the open-label, international Phase II HCVac trial in 153 treatment-naïve patients with chronic HCV genotype 1 infection showed that 13 injections of TG4040 as monotherapy over 12 weeks plus peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin initiated at week 12 (Arm C) led to a sustained virologic response (SVR) 24 weeks after the end of treatment in 62% of patients vs. 48% of patients who received peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin alone for 48 weeks (Arm A, control) and 51% of patients who received peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin for 4 weeks alone followed by 6 injections of TG4040 (Arm B). Additionally, 56% of patients in Arm C achieved an SVR12 compared to 42% of patients in Arm A and 48% of patients in Arm B. Data will be presented at the European Association for the Study of the Liver meeting in Amsterdam this month. ...
