Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP-1B: PTPN1); insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF1R; CD221)

Cell culture studies suggest PTP-1B could help treat IGF1R-dependent ovarian cancer. In IGF1R+ ovarian carcinoma cell lines, ectopic overexpression of PTP-1B decreased cell migration, invasion, proliferation and anchorage-independent survival compared with normal PTP-1B expression. Next steps could include testing PTP-1B in mouse xenograft models for ovarian cancer.
