Therapeutics: An undetermined target

Studies in mice suggest Zocor simvastatin could help treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). In mouse models of DMD, Zocor decreased inflammation, muscle damage and fibrosis, and increased diaphragm strength compared with no treatment, without adversely affecting muscle regeneration.
