Cancer

EGF latrophilin and seven transmembrane domain containing 1 (ELTD1)

Studies in mice and in patient samples suggest inhibiting ELTD1 could help treat cancer. In a mouse model of ovarian cancer, small interfering RNA against Eltd1 increased survival and decreased tumor weight, nodule number and metastasis compared with control siRNA. In patient tumor samples, ELTD1 expression was increased in tumor-associated endothelial cells compared with normal endothelial cells. Next steps include generating antibodies that block ELTD1.
