Imaging immune disease using multicolor light sheet fluorescent microscopy (LSFM)

High-resolution LSFM could help characterize the immune response in preclinical disease models. A fixation and deep tissue multicolor staining protocol enabled the visualization of single T cells and cellular nuclei in reconstructed 3D images of intact mouse tissue. In a mouse model of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), computational analysis quantified the dynamics of the immune response during disease progression. Next steps include using the approach to study tumor-immune cell interactions.
