Obama nominates Califf as FDA commissioner

The White House said Tuesday that President Obama will nominate Robert Califf as FDA commissioner. Califf has served as FDA deputy commissioner for medical products and tobacco since March.
If confirmed by the Senate, he would lead FDA as it negotiates reauthorization of PDUFA as well as user fee agreements covering medical devices and generic drugs, and congressional efforts to reform FDA by enacting the 21st Century Cures Act (H.R. 6) and a similar bill that is under development in the Senate. ...
