Bayer offers Cipro to Canada

Bayer (FSE:BAYG) said it has sufficient supplies of Cipro ciprofloxacin in Canada to meet the nation's bio-defense stockpile needs, and Health Canada's decision to purchase a generic version of the drug in contravention of Bayer's patent is unjustified. Phil Blake, executive vice president and general manager of Bayer Canada's healthcare division, told reporters that Bayer has "millions of tablets" of Cipro in its Toronto warehouses and the company has instituted "seven-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day production" of the antibiotic. ...
