Outpacing a market-wide selloff, the BioCentury 100 Index plunged 7.5 percent to 1958.9, thus finishing the process of erasing the entire 39 percent gain posted by the index last year, in which the BC100 started at 1990.1 and ended at 2760.1. There still is room to fall, as the BC100 floor remains at the 1334.1 level reached on Oct. 1, 1999. On Monday, only five stocks in the BC100 posted gains, none of which were more than 3.25 percent. On the flip side, there were 93 decliners, with antibody play Abgenix (ABGX) down $5.063 (18 percent) to $22.438; gene therapy company Vical (VICL) off $2.25 (18 percent) to $10.25; and Enzo (ENZ), a developer of antisense technologies, down $3.23 (18 percent) to $14.97. ...
