Wholesale sell-off

The BioCentury 100 index tumbled 13 percent on Friday, leading the general markets in percentage drop on the day. The tech-heavy NASDAQ index was off 9.7 percent while the DJIA was down 5.7 percent. Only two BC100 companies posted gains on Friday, with gene therapy play Avigen (AVGN) up $1.25 to $27.75 and infectious disease therapeutics company Triangle (VIRS) up $0.063 to $8.063. Europe fared no better on Friday, with the best performance among either the European BC100 companies or the BC London index being Oxford Asymmetry (LSE:OAI), which was unchanged at 416.5p. ...
